Someone told me once to start my soap making journey with a simple recipe of a few ingredients.  Ha, that wasn't my path.  After researching numerous ingredients and playing around with formulas, I created my own (shh, secret) recipe.  For now, it is the recipe that I use across all of my soaps.  This recipe has many high quality luxurious oils that are yummy for the skin.  What makes each unique is the essential oils and natural colorants that I use.

My goal in making soap is to develop a wonderful product with high quality ingredients that I can share with others and recoup some of my costs.  My focus is on a natural product, nothing but pure goodness.  I look forward to future experiments and formulas so stay posted!

Why use Goat's Milk in soap? (sourced from Australian Natural Soap)

Switching to soap made with goat milk can truly benefit your skin's health.  Goat milk soap is wonderful for people with dry and sensitive skin, or conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.  It is also perfect for healthy skin that wants to stay that way.  Unprocessed goat milk fresh from the farm contains many benefits.

  • Alpha Hydroxy Acids - Goat milk contains alpha-hydroxy acids such as lactic acid which help remove dead skin cells from your skin's surface.
  • Vitamins - Goat milk contains many vitamins, but is particularly high in Vitamin A which is necessary to repair damaged skin tissue and maintain healthy skin.
  • Cream - Fat molecules are an important part of making good soap.  The cream that is present in goat milk helps boost the moisturizing quality of goat milk soaps.
  • Minerals - Goat milk contains important minerals for the skin such as selenium.  Selenium is believed by scientists to have an important role in preventing skin cancer.  Selenium can also help prevent damage to the skin from excessive time in the sun.

Meet the team of milkers - Here are the beautiful girls that make this all possible!  These are my current Nigerian Dwarf goats that I milk by

hand.

Syrah is a sweetie and wins for best manners on the milk stand.

  • Most of my current bars are very lightly scented with essential oils only.  More scent may come through when wet and used.
